6Vibe Engineering: Scaling AI Responsibly
Vibe engineering begins when reliability matters more than speed of generation. Where vibe coding optimizes time-to-first-deploy, vibe engineering optimizes time-to-stable-scale, and the developer evolves from typist to architect and reviewer. It is the discipline that turns a regularised shadow tool into production architecture.
- AI usage policies. Clear, enforceable rules on which data, code and IP may be sent to external models — preventing ‘shadow prompting’ and feeding the intake register.
- Reproducible workflows (AGENTS.md). Shared, version-controlled libraries of system prompts, agent files and templates replace ad-hoc queries, making generation reproducible and auditable.
- Resilient infrastructure. Agentic directed acyclic graphs (DAGs) make orchestration context-aware and self-healing. Aligned with ISO 22301, systems degrade gracefully, roll back automatically and fall back to a human in the loop when models stall or loop.
